Top 5 books to read in October/during Halloween | Halloween

I love Halloween and I’m going to upload some Halloween themed blog posts in October! The first blog post is full of book recommendations to read in October/during Halloween. Let’s start!

1. Carrie by Stephen King
Carrie tells the story of Carrie and her terrible life. Her mum is really religious, but overreligious and it’s ruining Carrie’s life. Besides her crazy mum, she’s also not that popular at school, everyone thinks she’s crazy. But eventually she’s falling for a guy and they’re going to prom together. Everything seems to be fine, but Carrie possesses a terrifying power…
Carrie is my first Stephen King book and probably also my last one. Don’t get me wrong, I loved Carrie but all is other books are so HUGE! But back to Carrie: I really liked it and it was such a good story! I think it’s one of the best stories for October/Halloween. I also liked the Carrie movie with Chloë Moretz. If you haven’t read Carrie yet, make sure to check it out on Goodreads.

2. Dracula by Bram Stoker
We all know Dracula written by Bram Stoker… I’m not going to give you a synopsis or anything because if you don’t know Dracula, where were you the last couple of years??? I love reading books about vampires, but this is so much more. This is dark and weird, but in a good way. I really enjoyed reading Dracula and I think it’s perfect to read in October or during Halloween! I’ve never watched a Dracula movie, but I’m planning on watching it!

3. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is another dark and weird book. I don’t really need to give a synopsis because it’s a classic and everyone knows Frankenstein. Just like with Dracula, I’ve never seen a Frankenstein movie, but I’m planning on watching one too! I love the darkness in this book and that makes it a perfect October/Halloween read!

4. Love is Hell by Melissa Mar, Scott Westerfeld, Justine Larbalestier, Gabrielle Zevin and Laurie Faria Stolarz
Love is Hell contains five supernatural stories by five amazing authors. I’m not going too much into detail because you just have to read Love is Hell! I really liked reading Love is Hell because the stories flew by, they were so enjoyable to read and also fast paced. Make sure to add it on Goodreads!

5. Prom Nights from Hell by Meg Cabot, Kim Harrison, Michele Jafe, Stephenie Meyer and Lauren Myracle
Prom Nights from Hell is just like Love is Hell, an anthology written by five amazing authors. These stories were also really fast paced and enjoyable to read. Don’t forget to add this book on Goodreads!

I went from heavy books to light books and I hope one of these books will be perfect for you! Happy reading! 👻🎃❤
