My internship | College update #4

In my second year of college, we have to do a two-week internship and I did mine in a research and technology organisation that works for the government as well as for numerous companies. The organisation does research in sustainable development, clean tech, … In this blog post I wanted to talk a bit about my internship but I didn’t want to mention the organisation’s name, not because my internship didn’t go well (because it did), but just because I thought it was a bit more professional.

I chose this organisation because I love ‘working’ for an organisation that’s trying to save our planet and is looking for better alternatives. It just gives me a good feeling that I know that I’m working for someone that is trying to do something good for all of us.

The first day at my internship was such a good day. I was really nervous because I didn’t know what to expect and I was afraid that everyone was going to be so different because it’s such a big company, but everyone was so nice and funny. I expected a really formal communication, but everyone was so informal and it made my first day so easy! I still had some trouble asking some stuff because I got a little anxious, but besides that, my first day was amazing!

At my internship I had numerous tasks such as translating documents, writing social media posts and internal and external communication posts. I had to check the new website for errors and had to make the photo databank better. I was even allowed to post some things on the current and new website! Those tasks kept me busy those two weeks of my internship.

The day before the last day two people of the communication team and I sat together to discuss my internship on how it went and they also had to give me some ratings together with explanations. I received such an amazing feedback and I was so happy to hear that everything I did was amazing and they thought I am one of the best interns yet! The team manager even asked if I was interested in a vacation job (if there was work). I couldn’t be happier after receiving such a good feedback!

Overall, I really liked my internship and I don’t know, maybe one day I will work for this organisation! I’m kinda sad that it’s over now and I wish that my internship was longer than just two weeks. I really liked the people I’ve worked with and I think I’m going to miss them.
