Review

This book was provided by the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Andrews McMeel Publishing and Netgalley!

"Love is supposed to have sharp edges, it is supposed to be messy and unsensible, and if you go your whole life trying to keep your heart out of harm’s way, you miss out on all of love’s magic."

Worlds of You is a poetry collection about love, pain, passion, fear, drive, joy, failure, loss, … Worlds of You is a collection of Beau Taplin’s most treasured works.

Truth
When it comes to relationships, I have only one
rule: give me truth, however cold or cruel or hard
it is to hear.
I would rather have my heart broken if it
means I can waste a single moment of my time being
fooled by a lie intended to preserve my feelings.

As you can see from the list at the end of this review, I liked and even loved a lot of the poems from this collection. I've read Bloom, my first book I’ve ever read written by Beau Taplin, and I think that Worlds of You is even better! I really liked Bloom, but Worlds of You contains even more poems that I really like and this book is also a lot bigger than Bloom. Worlds of You is definitely one of my favourite poetry collections!

Ultimately,
the worst kinds
of pain do not
come from your
enemies but
the people you
trust and love.

My favourite poems are:
  • Worlds in You
  • The Awful Truth
  • Don’t Pity Me

are considered
weeds in the wrong gardens.
