Top 5 Halloween/October reads part 2

It’s finally October and one of the things I like to do in October is read spooky books and paranormal books. Last year I recommended 5 books to read in October or during Halloween, and now I’m going to give you another 5.

1. V Games (The Vampire Games #1) by Caroline Peckham

V Games was such an amazing vampire read that I got to read as an ARC so I want to thank the author again for sending me her books because every book in The Vampire Games series is amazing! V Games tells the story of Selena who killed her stepfather and is now in prison. One day a handsome man walks into prison and takes Selena, and many other girls, with him. She arrives at an island and has to compete in the V Games and kill as many vampires as possible.
Caroline Peckham is also writing Halloween short stories this month so keep an eye out for those! You can find the first one here.

2. Odd Spirits by S.T. Gibson

Odd Spirits was another ARC I really enjoyed and is perfect for Halloween. Odd Spirits is a short story about Rhys and Moira, a magician and a witch, who have some problems at home and need to solve them.

3. Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna #1) by Kendare Blake

It’s been such a long time since I read Anna Dressed in Blood, but I do remember really enjoying the story because it was about Cas who needs to kill all ghosts, a skill he inherited from his father, and one day he has to kill Anna. Anna isn’t your typical ghost, which makes it hard for Cas to kill her.

4. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus was one of the many books I read because I heard so many good things about it. The Night Circus tells the story of two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who will have to battle but there’s one problem: they’re in love with each other.

5. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children #1) by Ransom Riggs

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children is such an interesting read, and it gives the perfect vibe for Halloween. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children tells the story of Jacob who discovers a mysterious island with an abandoned orphanage. And then one day he finds the orphans with their peculiar abilities…
