This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Lee Martens!

Secrets of a Broken Heart is a poetry collection about heartbreak and tells the story of healing, hurting and dreaming.

For as much as I dislike it
I am addicted
to the feeling of pain

Secrets of a Broken Heart was such a beautiful poetry collection, and I couldn’t stop reading. I finished it one day because I had to read all the poems. There were so many beautiful poems and so many relatable poems.

During the day I fake happiness
and sometimes it works.
Sometimes I feel the smile
in every part of my body.

This was my first book written by Lee Martens, and I love her writing style. It’s just so beautiful and I cannot wait to read more poems written by her!

I also want to say that I really love the cover, it’s so pretty!

I feel most alone when I’m with friends
and their conversations never seem to end.

My favourite poems:
  • Temporary happiness
  • I wrote this on my birthday
  • Forever
