Synopsis

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's other half is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

Review

Pure is the second book in the Covenant series and tells the story of Alex, Aiden and Seth.

Last year, Sophie from Eyes of Owls, and I buddy Half-Blood, so when I got Pure for Christmas I asked her to buddy read this one with me too. I really enjoyed buddy reading Half-Blood with her and it was yet again amazing to buddy read Pure with her. We decided to read 6 chapters a day. It was so hard not to read the other chapters too because the book was so good!

Pure was such an amazing read, and I didn’t expect anything else after reading Half-Blood. After finishing Pure I didn’t know how to start my review and a day later, I still don’t know how to finish my review. Pure was such a good book and so hard to put down. I had to know what was going to happen to Alex, Aiden and Seth!

The Covenant series is somewhat similar to the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and that makes me even love it more. VA is one of my favourite series so it’s only logical that the Covenant series is good too. I see some similarities between Alex and Rose, the main character of VA. They’re both badass and I just love them!

As for the guys, Aiden and Seth, I love them too. And in my review of Half-Blood I mentioned that Aiden has my heart but I think Aiden has to share his place with Seth… I don’t know who to choose and this feeling is so f* up because I want to check some spoilers to see who Alex is going to choose… But I’m not going to do it, I’m going to be a good girl and wait for the sequel to arrive at my door!

Pure was such a well-written and amazing read and I didn’t expect anything else. Jennifer L. Armentrout is one of my favourite authors and I love every book I’ve read so far. I love the Covenant world and the characters and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, Deity!
