Newcomer is the first book in the Elmwick Academy series and tells the story of Cami.
First of all, let’s talk about the cover: It’s stunning! I love the blue and the lettering! I’m a huge fan of this cover and I cannot wait to see the cover of the other books in the series! Now, let’s talk about the book. So I really enjoyed reading Emilia Zeeland’s first series called the STAR Academy series and when I discovered her new series, I was so excited! I’m so happy that I read Newcomer because now it’s my favourite book by Emilia Zeeland so far!
When I started reading this book, I knew that I was going to love it. I instantly loved Cami, I really like her personality and I love that she’s somewhat special. I’m also a sucker for star-crossed lovers so when I read about Mason, I immediately shipped them. I cannot wait to read more about them in the other books. I also really liked Jean, I want to read some more about her too. I really liked the characters and that there are ‘legacies’, I think it’s really original. I haven’t read something like this before and that makes me love the book even more!
Newcomer is such a good Young Adult Fantasy and I think it’s the best one I’ve read so far in 2020. I haven’t been reading that many YA books so it was really nice to read one and I enjoyed every bit of it. Emilia Zeeland did such an amazing job with this book and I’m really excited for the second book in the series. I hope I don’t have to wait too long because I really want to know what’s going to happen next for Cami!
