Synopsis

I’m Cami O’Brien, and I need to get my best friend back.

Not only to protect her, but to preserve the link that binds us now.

For months, I’ve been separated from Jean, tormented by visions of my mother’s murder, and forced to stay away from Mason. But with circumstances thrusting the two of us together, can I keep thinking of him as the enemy?

When Mason’s sister unknowingly kicks off a high-stakes supernatural race, I must team up with the legacies I barely trust—the ones who want me to bind them into the new banshee’s circle.

One thing is certain—submitting to their demands is a slippery slope on our descent into chaos.

Suspension is a young adult fantasy novel, packed full of slow-burn romance and dark family secrets. If you like magical academies, fierce friendships, and plenty of ulterior motives, you’ll love this combustible set of supernatural powers and the mismatched team that wields them.

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Emilia Zeeland!

Suspension is the second book in the Elmwick Academy series and tells the story of Cami.

I’m so glad that I didn’t have to wait long for the second book in the Elmwick Academy series, Suspension. I really enjoyed reading Newcomer and I was looking forward to Suspension. Suspension was such a good book, and I really liked it. I really like how original this series it, it’s not something I’ve read before and that makes me like it even more.

A lot of things happened in Suspension, and not all of them were good things. I really liked seeing Cami change towards the end of the book. I also really liked discovering more about the legacies and hunters. As I mentioned in my review of Newcomer, I love star-crossed lovers and I love reading about Cami and Mason. I’m really curious what Emilia Zeeland is going to do with this couple in the next book.

Suspension was such a good and fast paced YA book. I really like Fantasy books and the legacies stuff makes me love this book even more. It gives the book something extra, something interesting, and I really like that. I love discovering more about the legacies and their history. I think that Suspension was a well-written sequel and I’m looking forward to the next book in the Elmwick Academy series!
