She has made a ghost of me…
In the days after the Fall, most of the world is contaminated. The Silver may have defeated the Weepers, but now they’re scrambling to find somewhere they can call home.
But their king is scrambling just to keep his mind. With his queen missing in action, the bond between them is stretching thin, and his consciousness is thinning with it.
If he can’t find his love soon, then he won’t live to lead his people into their new world.

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Josie Jaffrey!

Ungilded is a prequel novella in the Sovereign series and tells the story of Sol and what happened before the first book in the series, The Gilded King.

Ungilded was an interesting short story, and I really liked it. I’ve always wondered what happened between the Solis Invicti series and the Sovereign series. This short story gave me some more insight of what happened and how Sol dealt with Emmy being gone.

I liked this short story, I think it’s a great addition to the series. I cannot wait to read the next Sovereign short story, The Blue Empress.
