January & February book haul

Here I am with another book haul! It’s been a while since I posted one but I wanted to write another book haul because I love sharing books with you. Maybe one of them will pique your interest and will be your next favourite read! I really like reading and watching book hauls because I’ve read some amazing books because of book hauls! Even though it’s already March, I still wanted to share the books I got in January and February. I’m going to try and do monthly book hauls (or combined ones) because I want to write some other stuff for my blog than just book reviews and book releases. I haven’t been loving blogging lately, and I hope by writing about other stuff, that my love for blogging will come back. But let’s talk about the books I got in January and February:

PHYSICAL BOOKS

So I got quite a few physical books in January and February. I’m just going to mention them in alphabetical order because I can’t remember which books I bought when.

1. A Vow So Dead and Boldly (Cursebreakers #3) by Brigid Kemmerer
I already read A Vow So Dead and Boldly and I can say it was a little disappointing. I read this as a buddy read and we both felt like the story lacked a bit and we expected more. I remember really liking the first book, A Curse So Dark and Lonely, but the second book was not as good as the first one. But this one was even worse… I gave A Curse So Dark and Lonely 5 stars, A Heart So Fierce and Broken 4 stars and A Vow So Dead and Boldly 3 stars. Oh well, we can love every book we read, right?!

2. Harleen (Harleen #1) by Stjepan Šejić
So I’m a big fan of Harley Quinn and I have read a few of her comics, and I really like them. A few years ago I bought a special Joker comic book for my boyfriend and this Harleen one reminded me of the Joker one I got for my boyfriend. When I got my copy and opened, I got so excited to read it. The illustrations look amazing and I cannot wait to read it!

3. From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My lovely book friend Sophie got me From Blood and Ash as a birthday gift and when I opened the package I had to cry. I didn’t expect to get a book from her at all and it was such a lovely surprise. We started our buddy read on my birthday and we both loved it! This book is so good and so addictive, I highly recommend it!

4. My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
My boyfriend and I went to our local bookstore and he got me two books, My Dark Vanessa and Ninth House. I haven’t read this book but I bought it because the synopsis sounded so interesting. I have no idea what to expect but I’m so excited to read it. My Dark Vanessa also has a high average rating, so I think I do have some expectations.

5. Ninth House (Alex Stern #1) by Leigh Bardugo
Leigh Bardugo is a really famous author, but I still haven’t read any of her books. When I was browsing the English section in my local bookstore, I saw that they had a copy of one of Leigh Bardugo’s books. Since I know that she’s a famous author, I thought why not read the synopsis of the book?! I think that Ninth House sounds really interesting and I’m curious to find out whether or not Leigh Bardugo is an amazing author like some people claim.

6. Rage and Ruin (The Harbinger #2)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Even though I haven’t read the first book yet, I bought the second one and pre-ordered the third one. I think I just want to read all three books in one go without having to wait for the next one to arrive. I really loved The Dark Elements series, and I’m so excited for this spin-off series. I just know that it’s going to be amazing. Jennifer L. Armentrout is my favourite author and I love every book I’ve read by her.

7. The Betrothed (The Betrothed #1) by Kiera Cass
I’m a big fan of The Selection series by Kiera Cass, and my lovely friends got this book for my birthday. I’m really excited for this book and I have high hopes for this book. Unfortunately, I have seen some bad reviews about this book, so I hope it will not disappoint me.

8. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab
When I read the synopsis of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, I was really interested in the story. I’ve never read anything by V.E. Schwab, but I heard some amazing things about her books. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue got some mixed reviews, but Regina and I were really excited to buddy read this book together. Unfortunately Regina and I didn’t really enjoy this book. But like I mentioned above, you cannot always love a book.

9. The Raven Boys (The Raven Cycle #1) by Maggie Stiefvater
And the last physical book I got was The Raven Boys. Regina and I are planning to buddy read this one but due to some personal issues we have postponed our buddy read. But that doesn’t mean I’m not excited to read this book! I really loved The Wolves of Mercy Falls series, so I’m really excited to see if The Raven Cycle series is as good as The Wolves of Mercy Falls series.

EBOOKS

I bought a few ebooks in January and February and I also read some books with Kindle Unlimited. I’m going to share my KU haul soon (I hope). But let’s dive into the ebooks I got.

1. For Finlay (For You #1) by J. Nathan
So a while ago I read an ARC of the fourth book in the For You series. Since all books can be read as a standalone I had no problem reading the fourth book, For Emery. I really enjoyed the story and when I saw that For Finlay was free on Amazon, I couldn’t not buy a copy!

2. Her Soulkeepers Box Set by Sadie Moss
I’m a big fan of Sadie Moss’ work, and I’ve almost read all of her books. The Her Soulkeepers series is an amazing series, and I was lucky to be able to read arcs of all the books in the series. When she announced that the box set was free, I had to get a copy. I really loved this series, so I had to own a finished copy of this amazing series. If you’re into Reverse Harem, then I highly recommend Sadie Moss’ books!

3. Shadow’s Legacy (The Iron Fey: Evenfall #0.5) by Julie Kagawa
And lastly we have Shadow’s Legacy by Julie Kagawa. I’m such a big fan of The Iron Fey series, and I’m really excited to read the spin-off series Evenfall. I really liked Puck and I’m so excited to read more about him. I always thought that he deserved more attention and he’s finally getting it! I really liked reading the short story and I’m so excited to read the first book in the series, The Iron Raven!

And these are all the books I got in January and February! I hope you got some amazing books too!
