Synopsis

I thought that I was broken before, but my damage never tasted as bitter as this.

The Harlequin boys are more than just a memory now. More than a daydream of our youth and an idea to cling onto.

They’re my greatest weakness and my biggest regret, but I’ve started to realise that coming back to Sunset Cove was always my fate.

My heart beats to the turn of the tide here. My skin only warms beneath this sun. And my soul will only ever be home on these streets and with the men who grew out of my memories.

But nothing is the same as I remember and the time for childish games is coming to an end.

I may want to pretend that the last ten years never happened, but the nightmare I lost myself in has followed me home and I can’t keep ignoring the things I once did to survive.

The question is, will my mistakes be the end of me and my boys? Will the choices I made then change everything now? And will the life I never wanted steal away my only chance at the life I’m afraid to wish for?

This is an enemies to lovers contemporary series where the girl will end up with multiple love interests and all of the characters are in their late twenties. Trigger warning: this series features gangs, violence, dark romance and jealous/possessive themes.

Review

This book was provided by the authors in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti!

Carnival Hill is the third book in The Harlequin Crew series and continues the story of Rogue and her guys Chase, Fox, JJ and Maverick.

"You’re my sunshine when I’m caught in the dark. You make me feel alive even when I’m struggling to hold myself together. You make me feel like I’m worth something even when it’s hard for me to see it. You’re my rock, Johnny James. I think I need you more than I need the Green Power Ranger.’

Life’s been really busy for me lately but when I saw Carnival Hill on my Kindle app, I had to make some free time so I could enjoy this book. And damn, I did enjoy this book… So many crazy things happened in this book and I’m still not okay with the ending. I’m so invested in Rogue’s story, and I cannot get enough of all four men. Carnival Hill was so addictive and a real rollercoaster. I felt so many different emotions while reading this book and I have no idea what will happen in the fourth book.

"If the sun rises tomorrow, we’ll watch it together,’ she said breathily. ‘And if it doesn’t, we’ll fall into the dark hand in hand, Maverick Stone. So don’t you dare run away from me.’

Rogue is such a nice character to read about. She’s crazy, funny and we would definitely be besties in real life. Talking about besties, it was so nice to read about Tatum and her men again. I wish I got to read a bit more about them but I’m still happy with what I got. As I mentioned in my previous I love all four men, and that’s still true. Even though some of them can be so annoying, *cough* Fox *cough*, I still love all four of them. I really liked seeing a different side of Chase, and I loved reading about Maverick and JJ together… If you know what I mean…

I was the girl no one wanted. I was the whore they all discarded. And worse than all that, I was the dead girl who didn’t know how to die.

Carnival Hill was such an amazing sequel and I cannot stop thinking about this series! Although this book was really good, it deals with some heavy stuff such as violence, trauma and rape. I think that these topics make Carnival Hill darker than your average Romance, and if that’s something for you, then I highly recommend this series. Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti did such an amazing job with this book. I cannot get enough of Rogue and her men, and I’m so excited for the next book in The Harlequin Crew series!
