Synopsis

Forbidden. Powerful. Ruthless.

Micah the Unwilling, fae King of the Forgotten, can tame even the most violent of beasts. Forged on the battlefield, this iron-willed warrior considers his soldiers his family, and he will stop at nothing to reclaim their dispossessed land. Gearing for war with a sadistic enemy, he is disciplined and focused – until a feral beauty he encountered long ago wanders into his camp.

Viori de Aoibheall wields a terrifying ability to sing monsters to life. Having spent her childhood in a forest, raising herself and her frightening creations—the only friends she’s ever known—she’s ill prepared for the scarred royal and his fearsome brutality. Not to mention the ferocity of their connection and the carnality of his touch. But the real problem? Her brother is Micah’s greatest foe. And though the sensual king makes her burn, she must stop him, whatever the cost.

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Gena Showalter!

Ruthless is the second book in the Immortal Enemies series and tells the story of Micah and Viori.

After having read Heartless, the first book in the Immortal Enemies series, I was so excited to start Viori’s story. And what a story it was! Ruthless was such a good Fantasy Romance. This book was crazy, action-packed, a bit emotional and spicy, everything you want in a Fantasy Romance! Gena Showalter did such a good job with this book, and I enjoyed getting to know Viori and Micah.

Viori is really special, in my opinion. She can create ‘monsters’ out of nature, how cool and special is that?! Micah is a chimera, he has two powers that clash with each other. At the beginning I didn’t really know what to think of the characters, but the more I read about them, the more I started to like them. I really enjoyed the slow start of Viori and Micah’s relationship, and I’m happy that they got their happy ending.

The world Gena Showalter has created for her Immortal Enemies series is so interesting, and her characters are a bit crazy but hard to resist. I liked reading about Chantal and Kaysar again from Heartless, and I loved the happy ending Viori and Micah got. I do wish there was an extra happy ending chapter or that the last chapter was a bit longer. I highly recommend the Immortal Enemies series if you’re looking for fantasy, romance and crazy characters!
