Synopsis

The Whispering Daggers once saved me from certain death.

Ever since, their dark magic has been my prison. They whisper vile orders inside my head. Commanding my hands for their own uses. Demanding blood spilled and life ended all so they can feed.

The only way to sever their hold over me… is to die.

Then they make me an offer I can’t refuse—one more kill, and I’ll be free.

I accept.

On All Hallows Eve, I come face to face with my target.

Noctan. Tall, lethal, breathtaking. A warrior with shadows in his eyes and power in every step. A predator in his own right, he should have meant nothing more to me than freedom gained. Just another mark.

But fate has other plans. This beast in a man’s body is my mate.

Now the daggers want his life, and my body burns for his touch.

I can’t kill him. I can’t stay away from him. And the closer we get, the more I realize he’s just as dangerous as the magic that owns me.

The daggers want to corrupt me. Noctan wants to claim me.

Either way… I’ll be consumed.

Consume Me is a spicy standalone romantasy set in the Immortal Vices and Virtues Universe. Every book is a guaranteed happily ever after with a satisfying ending and no cliffhangers. Perfect for fans of Immortals After Dark, Black Dagger Brotherhood, and the Demonica series.

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Heather Hildenbrand!

Consume Me is the fourth standalone book in the fourth season of Immortal Vices and Virtues: All Hallows' Eveand tells the story of Kendall and Noctan.

And we're already on the fourth book in the Immortal Vices and Virtues season! These books are coming fast and I'm loving it! The close release dates are amazing because you don't have to wait long for the next novella to arrive. And because they're so short, they're perfect to read one a day to celebrate spooky season! For those who haven't heard of the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe, this is a book universe consisting of four seasons, and each season has several Romantasy standalone books written by different authors/author duos. Each book in this universe has a happy ending, and some books have characters that have been introduced in a previous book. Which is a nice because you get to read about previous characters again!

Consume Me is the fourth book in the new season, All Hallows' Eve. Like the previous books, Consume Me has a beautiful cover with tiny details matching the story, in this case for example a wolf. The male main character called Noctan is a fae wolf shifter hence the wolf on the cover. The female main character called Kendall is a (dark) fae. Consume Me is a Romantasy novella about a fae shifter and a dark fae who need each other to get rid of special daggers, but they didn't count on finding their mate in each other... This Romantasy is on the shorter side so you can't expect a big storyline or a lot of character development, but to me this novella has the perfect mix of everything you need to enjoy reading it. For those who have read Heather Hildenbrand's previous book from season three, Hunt Me from the Shadow Shifter Bonds season, you already know Tori and Legion, and you get to read some bits about them again.

Consume Me was another great addition to the Immortal Vices and Virtues universe! I really enjoyed this novella and I think it's the perfect read for when you want to read a book on the shorter side, but still want to enjoy a good Romantasy with some spice. This book has the perfect combination of spice and fighting scenes, and you get to read bits about previous characters. If you have the time, you can easily finish it in one day and enjoy the main characters' happy ending. Because I have a 3.5-month-old, it took me two days to finish, lol, but I still enjoyed it! I'm really excited for the next novella in the Immortal Vices and Virtues: All Hallows' Eve series!
