As we all know by now, I love Sarah J. Maas and the A Court of Thorns and Roses series but I never really made an inspired look for the first book, A Court of Thorns and Roses. When I came up with the idea of creating inspired looks for the A Court of Thorns and Roses series, I didn’t have a red eyeshadow. Now, I do and I still wanted to create a look for the first book in the series.
In the picture, it seems like the reds are a bit darker than the book but when you look at one of the last pictures, you can see that it’s more or less the same red.
Make sure to check out my inspired look for A Court of Mist and Fury and A Court of War and Ruins, and my review for A Court of Thorns and Roses, A Court of Mist and Fury, and A Court of War and Ruins.
1. Use a red pencil as an eyeshadow base. I used a big creamy pencil, but I cannot remember what I used. After applying the pencil as a base, use a red eyeshadow on top.
2. Blend the red eyeshadow with a black eyeshadow.
3. Use the same red and black eyeshadow on the bottom lash line.
4. I forgot that I had a red eye pencil so that’s why I did this step after applying the eyeshadows. I usually do this before I apply eyeshadows on the bottom lash line.
5. I wanted to do something with the silver from the book cover, but I didn’t really own a silver eyeliner so that’s why I came up with glitter. I just used the glitter from the craft store, which I don’t really recommend because they aren’t eye-safe. Make sure to use glitter that IS eye-safe! After the silver glitter, I applied mascara and lashes.
6. After lashes, I highlighted my cheekbones and cupid’s bow.
7. And the last step is adding some red liner and then black lipstick. I used the same red from step 1. And on top some of the glitters we used in step 5.
