Review
The Immortal is the second book in the Rise of the Warlords series and tells the story of Ophelia and Halo. Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.
After finishing The Warlord, I had to start in The Immortal, the second book in the Rise of the Warlords series. I really enjoyed the first book in the series, and I was really interested in the next couple. Ophelia and Halo are both such lovable characters, I really enjoyed reading in their perspectives and I was excited for their happy ending! Like the first book, I read a combination of the ebook and audiobook.
The Immortal is about Ophelia and Halo. Ophelia was such a fun character, she was really badass but also really funny and sassy. She’s a mix of a harpy and a nymph. Halo is an Astra, and I think he’s one of the most badass Astra. I really loved this couple, they were so perfect for them and I was waiting for the stardust moment. LOVED IT!
The Immortal was such a good book and I think it’s even better than the first book! I really loved Ophelia and Halo, I couldn’t get enough of them and I was so happy for them. I really enjoyed reading and listening to this book, and I’m excited to pick up the next book in the Rise of the Warlords series, The Phantom. I cannot wait to see what Gena Showalter came up with next!
