Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between | Review

Title: Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between
Author: Jennifer E. Smith
Pages: 248 pages
Version: Paperback
Publisher: Headline
Rating:  ★★★★

Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between tells the story of Clare and Aiden. It's their last day before college and they still don't know if they should stay together or break up. Clare thinks about breaking up, but Aiden wants to stay together. What will it be?

Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between is such a real story. I'm going to college since last week and even though I'm not travelling for hours, I do miss my boyfriend. We don't live that close and going to him takes some time. And because of college I don't really have time for him, only in the weekend. So I can really relate to this book in many ways!

Jennifer E. Smith did a great job in writing this book and making these characters as realistic as possible. When I was at the beginning I thought it was going to be a happy ending, with Clare and Aiden still being together. When I was further in the book I still thought so, until the end. I was so scared. I love Clare and Aiden's relationship, it reminds me of my own relationship. And because of that I didn't want that the book would end with a broken relationship. And then I read the last sentences of the last page... Tears were filling my eyes. Not tears of sadness, but tears of joy. It's such a perfect end!

I love Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between so much, that I want to read more books written by Jennifer E. Smith and I highly recommend Hello, Goodbye and Everything in Between to everyone!

What's my patronus?

Hi guys! Everyone's talking about their patronus so I thought that I made this post about mine!

To be honest, I never really tought about my patronus, what it could be. But when I heard that there was this test, I thought maybe a panda or a (black) cat. Those are my favourite animals and I have a black cat.

When I was doing the test, I wasn't really sure what to answer, it was a difficult test to be honest!

Here's my patronus:

To be honest, I think it's kinda weird that my patronus is a horse. I do love horses, but I don't really have a connection with it. But when I searched on the internet, to get to know more about horses, I could really connect. They like to be around people and they're very curious, just like me!

Outcast SE1 | Short review

Title: Outcast
Created by: Robert Kirkman
Seasons (watched): 1 season
Rating: ★★

Outcast is a drama and horror TV show about demonic possession. It's based upon the comic book series, called Outcast written by Robert Kirkman (who's also the producer of the TV show).

Click here to watch the trailer of season 1.

I'm not going to say too much about Outcast because it isn't actually worth it. When I saw the first episode, I was immediately hooked. It was creepy but also interesting. But the more episodes I watched, the less I liked it. It was always the same. I think the first episode was the only good episode in season 1.

Even though I disliked season 1, I will watch season 2 (if they're going to make one).

Opposite books | Tag

Are you guys excited for another tag? Here we go!

1. First book in your collection/Last book you bought.
The first book in my collection is really hard to tell. Even when I was a child I had books, so it's hard to tell which book I got first. So I have a solution: the first book on my own bookshelves! And that book is Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. And the last books I bought (I'm saying books because I bought them at the same time) are the first two graphic novels of the Legend trilogy by Marie Lu.

2. A cheap book/An expensive book.
The cheapest books I own are the Lords of the Underworld series by Gena Showalter. I bought book 1, 2 and 3 for I think €3.99 each, and it wasn't second-hand. And the most expensive book I've ever bought must be Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer when it was just released in Belgium.I think it was between €20-25.

3. A book with a male protagonist/One with a female protagonist.
I don't own many books with a male protagonist. Most of my books are with a female protagonist or a double perspective. One of my favourite books with a male protagonist is The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa. You get to know more about Ash and I love him. It was an emotional read! And for the female protagonist I'll pick a book that I really love (but don't own a copy of): Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi. Juliette is such a strong character and I love her.

4. A book you read fast/One that took you long to read.
Beginnings: Obsidian & Onyx by Jennifer L. Armentrout was such a fast read. I read my edition (800 pages) in two days. I loved it so much and I couldn't stop reading. I never got tired of it and I had to read it. Every time I finished a chapter, I just began reading the next one. The book that took me so long to read, is called Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. It was a book for school and everyone knows how horrible they are...

5. Pretty cover/Ugly cover.
One of the prettiest covers I own must be The Heir by Kiera Cass. I love the grey dress and the sparkles. It's the prettiest cover of the series. Unfortuneatly I own some ugly covers and I can tell for sure that Effi Briest by Theodore Fontane is one of the ugliest covers I own.

6. A national book/An international book.
I don't read many national books because most of the time they suck and are written for an older public. And even then, I read more Dutch authors for school than Belgian authors. I had to look really far in my read-list to find a Belgian author. The book's called Het is liefde die we niet begrijpen (in English: It's love that we don't understand) by Bart Moeyaert. And of course I've read several international books so I'll pick the last book I've read: The Goddess Inheritance  by Aimee Carter.

7. A thin book/A thick book.
The thinnest book I own is The Maze Runner Files by James Dashner. It's only 56 pages. The thickest book I own is the Dutch 3-in-1 edition of The Wolves of Mercy Falls, which is 1056 pages.

8. Fiction book/Non-fiction book.
I rarely read non-fiction books. For the fiction book I'm going to pick a random book from my shelves: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It's one of the books that really got me into reading. For the non-fiction book, I'll have to search harder... -later- I couldn't find one that I haven't mentioned yet. Too bad :)

9. Very (way too) romantic book/Action book.
A very romantic book I read recently (and loved) is It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover. Colleen Hoover is an amazing author and I love all her books that I've read so far. She can write these romantic books with something special. There's always something that gives the book that extra thing. I don't read many action books, so this is hard. I think I'm going to pick Ashes of Midnight by Lara Adrian. In these books you have warriors who fight (okay there's love in it, but also action, that counts right?).

10. A book that -made you happy/One that made you sad.
Almost evey book makes me happy, but one of the books that made me smile must be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling. Hello?! We're talking about Harry Potter. I love the books and the movies and I'm proud to be a Ravenclaw and a Thunderbird! One of the books that made me really sad must be Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It such a beautiful but also sad book! I cannot wait for the movie.

I hope this was interesting! See you in the next post! :)

Top 5 favourite horror movies

To be honest, I'm not that sweet shy little girl that loves contemporary movies. I do love them, but I'm also that girl that loves horror movies. And because my love for horror movies is so big, I'll give you my top 5 favourite horror movies. They are not in order!

1. The Conjouring
The Conjouring is such a famous horror movie and a lot of people were talking about it, so I had to watch the movie. And when I did, I loved it! It was really scary and there were many times that I had to grab my pillow because the moment was so creepy. Something I also like is that there's a real story, you have two people who investigate paranormal activity and there's this family were there are troubles. It's not real but I mean that it's just not your regular horror movie with the ending everyone expects. I can't wait for The Conjouring 2!!!
Click here to watch the trailer.

2. Sinister
Sinister is my another favourite horror movie because I think it's really cool that there's this thing with the house. All the previous owners had troubles with it, which you can see on numerous tapes. It's really scary and then there's this family who moves in the house, even though the dad knows what had happened. And the rest of the family thinks everything is fine when they move to another house, but that's not the case. I also can't wait for Sinister 2!!!
Click here to watch the trailer.

3. Mama
Mama is a strange horror movie, someting I've never seen before. My boyfriend and I were watching the movie together and we both thought it was strange, but scary. If you're into something different, you should really check this movie out! It's something different and different is good!
Click here to watch the trailer.

4. The Possession
We all know those movies when someone's possessed? Well this is one. I think this movie is one of the best movies about possession. It's also creepy with the hand in the throat (don't know how to explain lol). I think it's also cool that there's a exorcism and a Jew.
Click here to watch the trailer.

5. Orphan
Oprhan is the last movie that I want to add to my top 5 favourites list because when I was younger, I loved watching this movie. I've seen it more than 3 times because I love the story. It's about a child in an orphanage and she gets adopted by a couple who already has 2 children. But in reality she's not a child, but a woman who has a disease which makes you look like child (more or less). I think the story is really great and I think if you're younger, the movie is suitable for you.

It Ends with Us | Review

Title: It Ends with Us
Author: Colleen Hoover
Pages: 376 pages
Version: Paperback
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Rating: ★★

All humans make mistakes. What determines a person's character aren't the mistakes we make. It's how we take those mistakes and turn them into lessons rather than excuses.

It Ends with Us tells the story of Lily, a young girl who never really had it easy. Her dad was abusive towards her mother. She's has seen a lot to know not to become like her mother, and do say goodbye to her husband if he'd ever do such a thing.
When Lily was fifteen, she met a homeless guy, named Atlas. They got a special bond but when Atlas graduated he left to go the marine, but promised to find her when he returns.
Years later Lily meets Ryle. A cute, charming and sexy neurosurgeon. Everythings goes well, she starts a relationship with him, opens a flower shop,.. But then there's the day he pushed her. But will she make the right choice by leaving him, or will she stay?

I feel like everyone fakes who they really are, when deep down we're all equal amounts of screwed up. Some of us are just better at hiding it than others.

It Ends with Us is such a hearbreaking story. For the very first moment I met Ryle, I loved him. I couldn't get enough of him. And I forgave him, just like Lily did. It was hard for me to read that their relationship turned into something really bad. I feel sorry for him, that he can't handle his anger. But at the same time Lily is right, he should've asked her about it, before he handled like that.
To be honest I was never really team Atlas until the last moments. I gave my heart to Ryle, but he crushed it and Atlas was the one to put the pieces back. Now I love him and want more of him!

"It stops here. With me and you. It ends with us."

I think this book is such a good lesson for people. You get to learn so much more about abuse, and how the person, who's abused, thinks. It was so real and reading the note from the author and the acknowledgments made me think even more about the story. There were moments with tears in my eyes and the book made me sad. But it was all worth it. Colleen Hoover did yet again a great job by writing It Ends with Us and never forget: just keep swimming!

August favourites 2016

  • Just One Day series by Gayle Forman
I got the first two books from the library and read the #2.5 as an ebook. I really loved reading about Allyson and Willem and I loved the fact that he was Dutch. Not a lot of authors write about Dutch people (even less about Belgian people) and I like that Gayle Forman did. It was something different. I loved the story and the characters and that it wasn't just a simple love story. Click here to find out more about the first book in the Just One Day series.
  •  Suicide Squad pop-up store
It's not actually a thing, but a place/event and I really liked it. I fangirled really bad and even got a fake tattoo lol. I really liked being at the store and watch other people fangirl like I was fangirling. I made a blog post about it, so make sure you check it out. And click here to watch the trailer.

  • Wiser - Madilyn Bailey
Wiser is a song written by Madilyn Bailey and lately I love listening to it. I love what it's about and it really gets me. Normally I listen to metalcore and hardcore, but sometimes I listen to softer music such as Melanie Martinez and PVRIS, and lately also to Madilyn Bailey. Click here to listen to the song.
  •  Harley Quinn #1 en #2 (2016) by DC Comics

When I saw the trailer of Suicide Squad I fell in love with Harley Quinn so I was checking out some comics about her and this one was new. I started reading it and got sucked into her world. I love that she told some things about herself, because I actually don't know much about her. I can't wait to read the third comic and the others about her! Click here to get to know more about the comic.
  • TAO Serenity
TAO Serenity is a drink that helps with digestion and should help with stress. Since I only drank it once, I can't really tell that it helped. But I do love the flavour. TAO Serenity consists of starfruit, dragonfruit, rooibos, tea, ginger and vitamins (B1-B6 and E). It's so delicious and I would definetly drink it again!

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
A Court of Thorns and Roses is such an amazing book about faeries! When I started reading it, it was a bit slow. But when I read more, I began to love it more and more! I really love the concept and it's defintely one of my favourites! Click here for my English review, and here for my Dutch review. If you don't know this book, click here for more information about the book.
  • P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han
P.S. I Still Love You is the sequel of To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han. I loved o All the Boys I've Loved Before and I had to read the sequel. After reading the sequel I want the third and final book! I love Peter and I can't get enough of him. If you don't know what the first book is about, click here. And if you don't know the sequel, click here.
  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier (Marvel Comics)
Captain America is one of my babes from Marvel and when there's a movie with him, I have to see it! (Shame on me that I still haven't watched Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Age of Ultron, but soon I will!) And Captain America: The Winter Soldier didn't let me down. It was such a good movie and I loved the relationship between Captain America/Steve Rogers and Black Widow/Natasha Romanova. I still have to read the comics, but I will soon. First I'm going to read more of the Suicide Squad comics and then I'm going to start in some Marvel comics. Click here to watch the trailer of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
  • Game of Thrones season 6  (HBO)
I've watched the majority of season 6 in August because my boyfriend never had time to watch GoT with me and then he wanted to see Vikings season 3 so we had to finish GoT before we could watch Vikings. So in August we watched more or less 6 episodes. I think season 6 was really good and I cannot wait for season 7! Click here to watch the trailer of season 1 if you haven't watched GoT and click here to watch the trailer of season 6.
  • It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
It Ends with Us is such a beautiful and hearbreaking book. Even though it was really hard to read it (because it was so emotional) I finished it in two days. I love you Colleen Hoover!!!
The story is about Lily. Her dad is abusive towards her mom and she falls in love with Atlas, but he leaves to go to the marine. Later she meets Ryle and everythings seems right, until that one moment... I'm not going to say too much, becaue if you're going to read the book, it's best to know not much about it. That's how I did it and that made the story even better. If you still want to know what the book is about, click here. And soon my review of It Ends with Us will be up on my blog.

Legend: The Graphic Novel is such a fast paced graphic novel. It's been a while since I've read Legend, but I could easily follow the story. I love the way June and Day are drawn, I didn't really know how to imagine them in my head, but they way they are in the graphic novel, is just perfect. If you want to find out more about Legend, click here, and if you want to find out more about the graphic novel, click here.
  • A Mad Zombie Party by Gena Showalter

A Mad Zombie Party is the fourth and final book in The White Rabbit Chronicles and it's sooooo good! I expected it to be not as good as the other 3 books in the series, because now Frosty and Milla are the points of view and not Ali. But I was wrong, it was so good and one of the best endings for a series. I love you Gena Showalter! Click here to read something about the first book if you don't know the series yet and click here for the synopsis of book 4.
