October Bullet Journal set up

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I wasn’t always happy with what I’ve created but last month and this month I’m really happy. I decided to use pictures from Pinterest to decorate my pages, and I really like it. It’s easy and it’s still really pretty! You can find the pictures on my Pinterest, this month it’s Halloween/autumn themed. Make sure to check out my Instagram for Bullet Journal pictures that I don’t post on my blog!

Previous Bullet Journal set ups:
As I mentioned before, my inspiration comes from Sarah’s Spark, a lovely human being. I wanted to give credit because she deserves it!

Like in my previous post, my monthly spread consists of a grid on one page instead of two pages, and on the next page there’s a ‘to do’ and ‘to read’ list.

After my monthly spread, I have a habit tracker spread and a brain dump spread. I’m not sure if I’m going to keep doing the brain dump spread, but we’ll see.

The next couple of my pictures are my weekly spreads. The last weekly spread is one page, and the next page is my wrap up. The grid on every left page is to write down which hours I’ll be at school or work to get an overview.

I hope you guys liked this Bullet Journal set up and feel free to pin this post on Pinterest!

Or rather … not screwed.

Because the woman I can’t get out of my head is the one woman I can never touch again.
I’m Dr. Cruz Delgado – the youngest professor on this campus,
And Penelope Carstairs just walked into my class.

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Zomer & Keuning!

Rebel is the third book in The Renegades series and tells the story of Penna and Cruz. Although this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

Rebel is sadly the last book in the trilogy and the best one. I really liked the story and the characters. I’m a sucker for student-teacher romances, so I knew that I was going to like this one. I had some expectations since I loved the first two books and Rebel didn’t let me down.

I really liked Penna and Cruz, they were made for each other. Penna is such a badass, and she doesn’t say no to an adventure. Cruz is just so hot. I wouldn’t be able to resist him either. I also loved how both characters described each other.

Rebel was such an amazing sequel and, as I said before, it was the best one in the series. I also really loved the epilogue. I couldn’t stop smiling and I loved every bit of it! The Renegades was such an amazing series and I cannot wait to reread it!

Cruz is gewoon zo sexy.

Title: Nova
Series: The Renegades #2
Author: Rebecca Yarros
Pages: 366 pages
Version: Paperback (Dutch edition, ARC)
Publisher: Zomer & Keuning (Originally: Entangled Publishing)
Rating: ★★★★★

Synopsis

The only heart he wants is the one he already broke…

He’s Landon Rhodes.
The Renegade they call Nova.
Sinfully gorgeous, broody, tatted-up, professional snowboarder.
Four-time X Games medalist–
Full-time heartbreaker.

They say a girl broke him once–
That’s why he’s so reckless, so driven, so careless with his conquests.
But I’m that girl.
They can call me his curse all they want.
He and I both know the truth–
He’s the one who destroyed me,
And I’m not the sucker who will let that happen again.

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Zomer & Keuning!

Nova is the second book in The Renegades series and tells the story of Landon and Rachel. Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

Even though it took me a few days to read Nova, it was still an amazing book and a well-written sequel. The story was really good because I love second chance romances. The story of Landon and Rachel was really realistic because their mistakes weren’t easily forgiven and the characters had to work for their relationship.

I really liked Landon and Rachel. They were really different from Paxton and Leah, as a couple and as individuals. Landon is a risk taker as well, but he’s another person. Rachel is more daring and brave than Leah, but that doesn’t mean that Leah isn’t an amazing character. They’re both amazing in their own way.

Nova was such a realistic book in comparison to a lot of Romance books. Landon and Rachel fought for their relationship and that was something beautiful. I’m kind of sad that the next book, Rebel, will be the last book in the series!

Review

Make Me Fall is the second book in the Bayshore series and tells the story of Kinsley and Connor. Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

Make Me Fall was another amazing book by Ember Leigh. I read two other books by her this month, so I had a good reading month. I love the Breaking the Rules series by Ember Leigh and the Bayshore series is another great series. I love Ember Leigh’s writing and characters!

Make Me Fall begins with a fake relationship between Kinsley and Connor that grows into something more. I love fake relationships, it’s one of my favourite subgenres. Kinsley and Connor are just made for each other and I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time. Kinsley would be an amazing friend for me because I can see myself in her. Connor is sexy and funny, what do you want more?!

Make Me Fall was an amazing sequel and I cannot wait to read about the other Daly brothers!

Title: Glow of the Fireflies

Publisher: Entangled: Teen
Release date: 1 October 2019
Rating: ★★★

Synopsis

Briony never planned to go back to the place she lost everything.

And when she meets a hot guy who claims he was her childhood friend but now mysteriously keeps his distance, Briony starts piecing together her missing past … and discovers her mother didn’t leave to start a new life somewhere. She’s trapped in the hidden world within the valley.

Now, Briony will do whatever it takes to rescue her, even if it means standing up against dangerously powerful nature spirits. Even if it means giving up her first love.

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Entangled: Teen!

Glow of the Fireflies is Lindsey Duga’s third book and tells the story of Briony and Alder.

Glow of the Fireflies is the first book I’ve read by Lindsey Duga and I liked it. The story was really original and unique and Briony, Alder and Izzie were enjoyable characters! I’ve never read anything by Lindsey Duga, so I didn’t have any expectations, but I really like a lot of books by Entangled Publishing, so I knew that I was going to like this one too.

I don’t really read that many Young Adult Fantasy books, or just Young Adult books in general, anymore because I really like reading books where the characters are a bit older. I did, however, like the characters and the story. The characters were really realistic and I liked that Briony struggled with her amnesia. You don’t always read about characters with amnesia. Alder was an interesting guy and I knew that I was going to like him from the beginning of the book.

Glow of the Fireflies was a good YA Fantasy book with a stunning cover! I cannot wait to check out Lindsey Duga’s other books.

For the first time in my life, I want someone I can’t have.
She’s the girl who obeys every rule.
I’m the guy who breaks them.
Our biggest risk is falling for each other,
But I live for risk…

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Zomer & Keuning!

Wilder is the first book in The Renegades series and tells the story of Paxton and Leah.

Wilder is the first book I’ve read by Rebecca Yarros and won’t be the last one! It was so hard to put this book down, it was just so addictive. I had to know what was going to happen to the characters and how the story was going to end.

I really like Paxton and Leah. Paxton is such a badass and loves taking risks and Leah is the opposite. She’s someone who follows the rules and doesn’t take any risks. Until she meets him… I think that Paxton and Leah are perfect for each other because they’re opposites.

Wilder was such an amazing book and I didn’t see the plot twist coming! I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, Nova, and thanks to Zomer & Keuning I can start reading it after finishing my review. Thank you Zomer & Keuning for giving me the entire trilogy, I cannot wait to read the other two books!

Title: The Shrike & the Shadows
Author: Chantal Gadoury & A.M. Wright
Pages: 365 pages
Version: Ebook (ARC)
Release date: 3 March 2020
Rating: ★★★
2.5/5*

Synopsis

Men have gone missing before.

The village of Krume is plagued by a haunted wood and a hungry witch. It’s been that way for as long as Hans and Greta can remember, though they have never seen the witch themselves; no one has.

When men start to disappear once again in the cover of night – their bloody hearts turning up on doorsteps – the village falls into frenzied madness.

Hans and Greta, two outcast orphans, find themselves facing accusations of witchcraft and are met with an ultimatum: burn at the stake, or leave the village forever.

With nowhere else to go, they abandon their only home.

As they venture into the strange forest, their path is fraught with horrific creatures, wild and vivid hallucinations, and a mysterious man tied to the witch’s past.

The Shrike is watching, just beyond the deep darkness of the woods.

Review

This book was provided by the authors in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Chantal Gadoury and A.M. Wright!

First of all, I’d like to say something about the cover. It’s such a beautiful cover, I love all the details and the heart in the middle, it’s perfect for the story!

The Shrike & the Shadows is the second book I’ve read by Chantal Gadoury and the first one I’ve read by A.M. Wright. I really liked the concept of this story, I love retellings and I really liked what they did with Hansel and Gretel.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the book in general. It was really slow and I couldn’t really get into the story. The characters were interesting, especially Barin, but they weren’t that special to me. I just couldn’t connect with them for some reason.

The Shrike & the Shadows was an interesting read and I’d like to read the next one to see what happens to Hans and Greta!
