Brix Ward is a Grade A prick.

He's arrogant, spoiled, and self-centered. As the lead singer of A Rebels Havoc, he's used to women falling over themselves for a chance to tame the wild bad boy.

Except for me.

I still remember the boy I grew up with. The one who went out of his way to make my life a living hell. I did my best to avoid him at all costs.

Imagine my surprise when our parents announced they had eloped, then left me to live with my new stepbrother. Alone.

Now, no matter what I do, there's no escaping him. He's always there, tempting me, provoking me. Every moment of every day. The more we're around each other, the more the heat between us begins to rise.

If he thinks he can hurt me again, he’s dead wrong.

I won’t let him be the one to destroy me, even if it breaks my heart.

Review

This book was provided by the author through Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Brooke O’Brien and Wildfire Marketing Solutions!

Brix is the first book in the A Rebel’s Havoc series and tells the story of Ivy and Brix.

Brix is already the seventh book I’ve read by Brooke O’Brien and I loved every second of it! I already know that this series is going to be my favourite series by Brooke O’Brien because the characters are amazing and I love that this Romance story is kind of wrong but addictive too.

Brix is about Ivy and Brix, who are stepbrother – and sister. It’s wrong to be together, but they can’t help themselves. I think this romance is so wrong but I cannot stop loving it. It was so hard to put this book down because I had to know what was going to happen. I was also really scared for the part where everything goes wrong. Luckily they got their happy ending. Brix is such a hot character and I cannot get enough of him and his dirty talk. I also really liked Ivy, and I can relate to her a lot.

Brix is another amazing and well-written book by Brooke O’Brien! I finished this book in two days and if I had more time, I would’ve finished it in one sitting. The story is so interesting but also kind of wrong. I really liked this book and I cannot wait to read the next book in the A Rebel’s Havoc series!

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Tori Fox!

Forgotten Pieces is the third book in the White Creek series and tells the story of Tacoma and Ryder. Although this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

Forgotten Pieces was another great book by Tori Fox. I really like reading about the characters in White Creek and everyone deserves their story! I really loved Tacoma and Ryder’s story because it was an emotional one. Tori Fox always puts this extra emotional thing in her books and I love her for that!

Tacoma is your typical party girl but there’s a reason she is like that. She’s been through a lot and seeing Ryder again after a few years doesn’t help. Ryder is a marine and just like Tacoma, he’s been through a lot. After a few years, they find each other again and can’t help their feelings for each other. I love that they got together but I had some problems with how they got together. I’m not going to spoil it for you, but I normally don’t really like these type of relationships.

Forgotten Pieces was an amazing book and I hope we’ll get some more books in the White Creek series. All of the books by Tori Fox I’ve read so far were all amazing so I know that I’m going to love Tori Fox’ next book. Let’s hope it will be out very soon!

Fool Me Twice | Cover reveal

Title: Fool Me Twice
Author: Carrie Aarons
Release date: 12 March 2020

Synopsis

When my best friend died of cancer just before her eighteenth birthday, she left her coveted bucket list to me.

The things she already crossed off? Skinny dipping, going to Paris, completing the local hot wing challenge, road tripping to the ocean, and sending out a message in a bottle.

So, it falls on me to finish it for her, to honor her memory. In the next year, it’s my mission to:

1. Dye my hair
2. Have sex
3. Camp out in a tent
4. Go bungee jumping
5. Get revenge on Lincoln Kolb

Most are doable, some terrify me, and then there is the last item on the list. When the raven-haired football god dumped my best friend during senior year of high school, she was devastated. The jerk with charm for days found out she was sick, and betrayed her in the worst way possible.

But he doesn’t know me, I went to went to school a town over. Now, to fulfill my promise, I’m the newest freshman on the campus where he is the big man. If there is one thing, aside from cheap beer, that a jock can’t pass up, it’s a shiny new girl.

So when I catch his eye, play hard to get, and then fall into his bed, I know my scheme is working to perfection. But what Lincoln can’t see coming is the beatdown I have planned for his ice-cold heart.

Unfortunately, what I never saw coming was the one he had planned for mine.

March Bullet Journal set up

March’s theme is pretty simple, but I still like it. I found a cute sticker pack at Action with flower-themed stickers and I couldn’t not buy it! Before I show you my pictures, I want to say sorry for the weird angle. I had to take these pictures in this angle because otherwise, you couldn’t see the stickers because of the lighting. I’m sorry!

You can find all my previous Bullet Journal posts here.

The first page is my monthly overview together with my ‘to do’ and ‘to read’ list.

Then we have my weekly spreads. Just like last month, I decided to put a mini habit tracker on my weekly spreads. It saves me a lot of time and I think it gives an overview of why I did or did not do something. Some of my weekly overviews look a bit different from the others, that’s because the stickers aren’t the same size.

And the last two pages are the last weekly spread and the monthly wrap up. Since the last two days of March are on a Monday and Tuesday, I decided to draw Monday and Tuesday and not an entire week. I also kind of messed up so that’s why I put the big sticker in the middle where I usually write Wednesday. I thought of making a smaller habit tracker for two days but I messed up the design. FML. But I fixed it with a sticker lol. Stickers are the best! Since I messed up the habit tracker, I just made two very simple ones. Nothing changed with my monthly wrap up, it’s still the same.

I hope you guys liked this Bullet Journal post. If you did, feel free to pin this post on Pinterest!

Can she let him go?

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Kyra Lennon!

If I Let You Go is a novella about Madison and Dominic.

If I Let You Go is the fourth book I’ve read by Kyra Lennon and I really liked it! If I Let You Go is a short read but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a great book. In fact, I really liked it because it was so short. It’s the perfect read when you want to read a Romance story that you can finish in a few hours!

I really enjoyed reading this novella about Maddie and Dominic. Maddie has done everything for Dominic’s daughter so it’s no surprise that she’s hurt when Dominic tells her he’s leaving to New York with his daughter. I think that Maddie is an amazing character because she takes care of Dominic’s daughter like she’s her own. Dominic is a bit stupid because he doesn’t really realise what he has: Maddie and his daughter.

If I Let You Go was such a good book. I really enjoy reading short books in between big ones so this was the perfect book for me! If I Let You Go is a quick and enjoyable read, and I cannot wait to read the Kyra Lennon’s next book!

Review

This book was provided by the author through Wildfire Marketing Solutions in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Katey Taylor and Wildfire Marketing Solutions!

Inebriated is the first book in the Inebriated series and tells the story of Cait and Adrien.

When I started reading this book, I thought everything was going to be different at the end of the book but it was not. I have some mixed feelings about this book. I really liked the concept of the story. I liked that Katey Taylor talked about addiction, death, family. But the thing that bothered me about this book was the main character and her interest.

Cait is a wild high school student who loves to party and drink with her friends. I’m not always okay with the choices she’s made in this book and that annoyed me. She’s so reckless and doesn’t think things through. Adrien is a struggling addict and musician and he doesn’t make the best choices either. Their relationship isn’t healthy at all…

As I mentioned before I have mixed feelings about Inebriated but I liked how the book ended. I’m really curious what Katey Taylor will write in the next book in the series, Neon Nights!

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Entangled Amara!

The Demigod Complex is the first book in the Brimstone Inc. series and tells the story of Lyleia and Castor.

The Demigod Complex is the third book I’ve read by Abigail Owen. I’ve read another book by her and another one from her pen name, Kadie Scott. I really liked those other books so it was no surprise that I really liked this book too! The story was really interesting and I like reading books with multiple paranormal characters!

I really liked the characters and I’m such a sucker for boss/assistant Romance! I just cannot get enough of it because it’s kind of forbidden but hot at the same time! I loved how protective Castor was and Leia was such a strong character. She faced some people that did her wrong but she kept looking them in the eyes. I love a strong female protagonist! And Castor and Leia are just perfect for each other. I cannot get enough of them!

I really liked The Demigod Complex, it was another amazing book by Abigail Owen! The story was well written and fast paced! I’m looking forward to the next book in the Brimstone Inc. series because it’ll be about Dahlia!

Release date: 17 February 2020
Rating: ★★★★.5

Synopsis

The prim and proper Rose isn’t the kind of woman Owen is usually interested in. But the more he gets to know her, the more intrigued he becomes. There’s passion underneath those stiff suits of hers that he can’t wait to explore.

There’s no reason these two opposites can’t have some sexy fun – except that one thing. Rose works for the very people trying to destroy Owen’s business.

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Entangled: Brazen!

Wrong Bed, Right Man is the third book in the Accidental Love series and tells the story of Rose and Owen. Even though this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

It’s been a while since I read the second book in the Accidental Love series but I remember really liking that one so when I got the opportunity to read and review this book, I couldn’t say no! Luckily for me, every book can be read as a standalone, so I had no problems at all. When I started Wrong Bed, Right Man, I couldn’t stop reading. It was so addictive!

Wrong Bed, Right Man tells the story of Rose and Owen, they’re kind of enemies since Rose works for a company that is destroying Owen’s business, but they can’t help falling for each other. I really liked both characters because they were perfect for each other and I loved reading about them.

I really like that this book isn’t just about the romance, but also about loving your job and fighting for your job. I really liked Wrong Bed, Right Man and I cannot wait to read more books by Rebecca Brooks!

Life update | February 2020

I wanted to post another update because a few things happened since my last update I posted in December. Some good things happened but also some bad things…

School
I had exams in January and I have some good news: I passed all my exams! I’m really happy because this means I’m one step closer to getting my degree. I’m really happy but at the same time, I’m really scared. I’m scared about my internship, my thesis and getting a job after graduating. I think this period will be stressy for me, but I’ll hopefully enjoy it as well.

As for the friend thing I mentioned in my previous post, it didn’t get better. It kinda got worse. I keep thinking about them and about what I did wrong for them to act like that towards me. I’m still thinking of previous conversations or things that they could be talking about behind my back. Sometimes I really really hate my anxiety. Some days I don’t think about them, but there are a lot of days when I do think of them…

Mental health
My mental health is kind of getting better but not that much. I thought my MH would improve once my exams were over and I got my grades, but it hasn’t improved that much yet. I think it’s because of the friend thing I mentioned above as well as the thoughts about my internship, thesis and finding a job.

My anxiety’s been driving me nuts about these things and I keep thinking that my boyfriend doesn’t love me anymore and that some people don’t like me anymore. I don’t know why I keep thinking that my bf doesn’t love me anymore because we recently celebrated our 6th anniversary. I think it’s the fear of people leaving me behind because so many friends did (in the past and the present). It feels like I’m easily left behind.

Blog
I was hoping that after my exams, I had some more inspiration to write some new blog posts. But no, there’s still no inspiration… I did create a little makeup tutorial last month and I’ve been keeping up with my Bullet Journal posts, but that’s it. All my other posts are bookish posts such as reviews, blog tours and cover reveals. I hope my inspiration will return pretty soon.

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Brittni Chenelle!

The Brave & The Broken is the second book in the Gifted Fae Academy series and continues the story of Reina and Kaito.

The Brave & The Broken was another great book written by Brittni Chenelle! I’ve been reading a lot of books about fae and I really like the concept of the Gifted Fae Academy! It’s something different than I’ve read before and I really like that. These days books are really similar, and that not always bad, but I love reading a story that is a bit more original.

Reina and Kaito changed a lot from book 1 until the end of book 2. I really like some character development in books and Brittni Chenelle did so well! Just like the first book, The Brave & The Broken is written in two perspectives (Reina and Kaito) and I love reading in both perspectives. I just love it when you get to know more about the main characters by reading their thoughts and by reading about their feelings.

The Brave & The Broken was such a quick read. I love the shorter chapters because then it feels like you finish the book in 10 seconds. It’s also a lot easier to read, in my opinion. I don’t really like chapters that are too long. The Brave & The Broken was such a good book and I’m really excited for the next book in the series!

The Order Anthology: Valentine's Sale

Synopsis

All three books in The Order Series in one convenient package! Enter a world of secret societies, sensuality, and scandal...

Bloom (The Order #1)
When she was sold at the age of nine to a Suitor, Fawn believed he would protect her from the “Mainworld”, where those who know nothing about the Order dwell. Living with the cruel man who bought her freedom, she finds just what the Order is about: money, control, and status for the Owner and humiliation and abuse for those they own.

Unwilling to accept the expectations of being Owned, Fawn goes from golden girl to maid, content to live in the shadows of the Order as long as she isn’t Owned again.

It’s been ten years since she disgraced her former Owner’s name, and now the brooding Frenchman Elliot Lyon wants her. Master Lyon is kind, smart, and unlike any man she’s met. She doesn’t want to admit it to herself, but Fawn is drawn to him despite constantly planning her next escape.

Even the prettiest flowers have thorns, and Master Lyon is hiding secrets that will uproot everything she thinks she knows about him.

Wilt (The Order #2)
When she was sold to Master Elliot Lyon of House Chimera, Fawn could have never imagined he was the same person as Elliot, the man beneath a well placed mask. A victim. Just like her. She would have never thought he was grooming her for the Wolf she’d already escaped once. That he planned to deliver her to the beast’s jaws in exchange for his wife. Master JΓ€ger will stop at nothing to have her—even if that means using others as collateral. With more than just their lives on the line, Fawn must become someone else, and Master Lyon distances himself further from Elliot as her transfer looms.

The roots of the Order run deep within them, but Fawn is beginning to realize another bond has formed between her and her Owner, a man she vowed to destroy along with the rest of their tangled branches.

In a world where trust is just a tool and love isn’t meant for people like them, Fawn is determined to beat the powerful at their own elaborate games of make-believe. Even the man who Owns her.

Chrysalis (The Order #3)
After Wolf Manor, Fawn vowed to never be weak, broken, or scared again. She has wrenched her power from the Vultures, visiting them under the cover of darkness to deliver the same drug they’d given her. This version has a different side effect: death.

It doesn’t stop the nightmares, it can’t erase what happened, but revenge is the only distraction from Lyon Estate. Tucked in the wilderness, she draws back into herself until Master Lyon demands they make good on their deal. In order to continue her vengeance, he is to be her Owner—really this time.

While it is a small sacrifice to make, Fawn isn’t prepared to be pulled back into Elliot’s world, where the rules of the Order exist, but in a new way.
