I have a problem. His name is Lincoln “Asshole” Hudson. He’s the bastard who wants to run me out of town. I should hate him. Trouble is, Lincoln is my type. Like one hundred and ten percent. And, ladies, he has the biggest, er, package I’ve ever seen on a man — Eveline
I have an itch I want to scratch. Her name is Eveline “Sassy Mouth” Claude. She’s the woman standing in the way of what could be my most lucrative project yet. Eveline is my enemy. There’s one hitch: she’s the hottest thing on legs my dick has ever seen — Lincoln
When Eveline Claude discovers she doesn’t actually own the land on which her most successful club stands, she is determined to get it back from the man who has now laid claim to it. Unfortunately, Lincoln Hudson, the new landlord and über successful billionaire behind the Hudson Group, doesn’t want to play ball.
Lincoln Hudson is in Tokyo for a landmark deal that could help secure his company’s foothold in the Far East and expand his hotel business in a new and exciting direction. The only hiccup is, someone else thinks they own the prime piece of land he’s just bought. And that someone is a woman he very much wants to bed.
After Lincoln convinces Eveline into becoming his personal escort for the duration of his stay in Tokyo in exchange for considering leasing her the land, the two of them come to a mutual agreement; they will enjoy each other—socially and carnally—until such a time that their arrangement comes to an end.
But as their time together draws to a close, Eveline and Lincoln discover that they have more in common than just great sex. Will they let their business affairs sour what is growing between them? Or will they put aside their differences and accept that enemies they may have started as, but lovers is what they’re meant to become?
Discover Eveline and Lincoln’s story in this sexy and wickedly funny addition to the hot, contemporary romance series Nights by A.M. Salinger. Note from the author: although each book in Nights can be read as a standalone, you will enjoy this series even more if you read the books in order!
This is a novella length MF romance with a HEA.

Undisclosed tells the story of Eveline and Lincoln. Eveline discovers she doesn’t own the land where her successful club is situated. She’s determined to get it back, but she didn’t know that a very sexy man named Lincoln owns it now…

Undisclosed was such a good steamy romance, and I really enjoyed reading it. It was just another amazing romance written by A.M. Salinger. I really liked that there were so rougher sex scenes as well as some BDSM. I don’t always read BDSM so it was a nice change and I really liked those scenes.

I really liked Eveline because she was such a strong female character and even though she’s been through a lot, she’s so strong and confident. She was such an enjoyable character, and I really liked her. Lincoln was also such a fun character, he was so charming and sexy but also so sweet.

I cannot wait to read the other books in the Night Series and I’m really interested in the m/m books since I haven’t read a lot of m/m yet!

This or that Halloween tag with Amelinda Bérubé

Welcome to the First Annual “Trick or Treat” Blog Tour hosted by Moonlit Reads! This tour is the first to come of many. It takes place during the last 13 days of October leading up to Halloween Day. Trick or treat along the tour finding giveaways, interviews, blurbs, and more! You can find the start of the tour and its schedule here! Now, let the spooky begin!

First a few questions for Amelinda Bérubé:

1. Your author bio reads, "I write about ghosts and monsters and other things that go bump in the night." There are all sorts of urban legends that give life to these ghosts and monsters...if you could write from an urban legend prompt, what would it be?
Can you give a short premise of it? Give me a big old haunted building any day. Somewhere people have been known to disappear, that's bigger on the inside than it ought to be, that people emerge from with inexplicable blanks in their memories, that isn't always in the same place... I, um, may or may not have something up my sleeve along these lines for NaNoWriMo.

2. It seems people have a hard time surviving in horror movies. If you were dropped down into a horror film, what would be your game plan for surviving?
I don't think my chances of surviving a horror movie would be very high - especially not if a lot of running or fighting was involved! If I found myself beset by supernatural forces, I would definitely start by using my Google-fu to figure out what local mythology could be in play, what terrible crimes were committed in the vicinity, and so forth...and failing that, I'd be breaking out iron, salt, running water, all the classic defenses against things that go bump in the night. But that's assuming whatever's coming after me is playing by traditional rules...

3.Create a Halloween aesthetic for The Dark Beneath the Ice (can be a pinterest board, a few pictures, a few sentences, or a mix)
I came across this video of literal dancing on knives - "En Puntas" by Javier Pérez - while I was working on revisions for the book; it combines a few of the motifs I played with in a really riveting and evocative way. I think it really captures a feeling of rigid self control, terrifyingly high stakes, and increasing, barely restrained panic and exhaustion, all of which was part of the atmosphere I was aiming for. What the dancer shouts around the two minute mark is je te deteste! - I hate you!

And let's check out Amelinda's answers for the This or That Halloween tag!

1. Witches of Vampires?
Ooh, vampires, please. Especially the truly scary historical kind that sprang from people's terror of contagion.

2. Trick or Treat?
Treats - chocolate, for preference, and lots of em!

3. Halloween Party or Scary Movie?
Scary movie. I'm a hopeless introvert.

4. Skeletons or Zombies?
Zombies - way grosser and scarier!

5. Trick-or-Treat or Hand Out Candy?
Can I hide in the basement with the above-mentioned scary movie instead?

6. Hay Ride or Corn Maze?
Corn maze, way scarier!

7. Bottle Feed A Baby Zombie or Walk Alone Through A Dark Forest?
A baby zombie sounds SUPER upsetting, so I'd definitely pick the dark forest.

8. Pumpkin Spice or hot Chocolate?
Chocolate will win any battle for my heart.

Clown look | Tutorial

My third look is a clown look. I wanted to create a clown look that was simple because I’m all for a cool Halloween look that’s easy to recreate. Diana and I both created a clown look, only hers is in colour and mine is in black and white. One of our friends came up with the idea of doing a collab so that’s what we did! I’m really happy with our looks, so I hope you guys are too!
Make sure to check out Diana’s look, blog and social media!

Let’s begin with the tutorial!

1. It’s always easy to sketch with a white pencil instead of going straight in with the paint. You can always use a nude or light pink pencil if you don’t have a white one.

2. After sketching, you can fill in the collar.

3. I wanted to give the collar something extra so that’s why I created these little dots.

4. I was inspired by Pennywise from It, so that’s why I extended my smile all the way up to my eyebrows.

5. For eyes, I decided to go with a smokey look. First I applied the gel liner on my eyelid and blended it with a black eyeshadow. As you can see in the next step, I darkened my eyebrows. I did this with the same black eyeshadow.

6. For lashes, I went with two pairs. The half lashes were for my bottom lashes, and the full lashes were for my upper lashes.

7. And the final step is lipstick. I applied black lipsticks on my lips and then softened the edges with black eyeshadow.

And that’s it!

Ambra
Finding out the truth about what happened that night almost killed me. Literally.
With almost no-one left on my side, how am I supposed to pick up the pieces of my life and move on?

Salt & Venom | Review

Title: Salt & Venom
Series: Blood, Bloom & Water #2
Author: Amy McNulty
Pages: 227 pages
Version: Ebook (ARC)
Publisher: Snowy Wings Publishing
Rating: ★★★★

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Amy McNulty!

Salt & Venom focuses on Ivy’s story as the mermaid champion. Ivy never wanted to be the mermaid champion, but she had to because her step-sister is the vampire champion.

Salt & Venom is the second book in the Blood, Bloom & Water series and I really liked this one. I even think that this book is better than the first book, Fangs & Fins. I remember not really liking the double perspective and Salt & Venom is only in Ivy’s perspective.

I think that the pace of this book was faster than Fangs & Fins, and I really enjoyed reading it. I read this story pretty quickly because I kept on reading because I really liked it, and I didn’t have that feeling with Fangs & Fins.

I also want to mention the epic plot twist at the end of the book. I really didn’t see it coming and I thought this book was going to end differently. I still hope that somehow everyone can accept each other and live next to each other. But who knows?

Salt & Venom was an amazing sequel and I cannot wait to read Iron & Aqua!

Hush
A.M. Salinger
(Nights Series, #8)
Publication date: October 16th 2018
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance
Tom Sutherland is an arrogant prick. There, I said it. Okay, so he’s also my assistant and I couldn’t survive without him, but that doesn’t make him less of an irritating bastard — Lana
Lana Keele is a witch. A beautiful, frustrating witch placed on this earth to torment me. Yeah, she’s my boss, but she’s still the most maddening creature I’ve ever had the misfortune to cross paths with — Tom
When Lana Keele, president of Keele Industries and only surviving heir to business tycoon Oliver Keele, wakes up in her devil-of-an-assistant’s bed after a drunken night out, she fears the worst. That is, until prissy Mr. Perfect Tom Sutherland declares that she’s the last woman he’d ever want to sleep with.
After surviving four years in the company of the infuriating woman he’d lusted after since his teens, Tom has had just about enough of the unholy siren that is Lana, especially when she turns up inebriated on his doorstep one night and demands sex. Convinced that Lana will never return his affections, Tom decides that it’s high time to get over his unrequited love.
Except Lana doesn’t quite seem to agree with this plan. Not after she sees him with another woman. Not after she confronts him about it. And most definitely not after he succumbs to temptation and kisses her.
As they finally ignite the fire that has burned so long between them, Tom cannot help but be certain that for Lana, this is just about sex. Will he be satisfied with only having the body of the woman he loves and not possess her heart? Or will Lana convince Tom that she truly means to give him her everything?
Discover Lana and Tom’s story in this sexy and stormy addition to the hot, contemporary romance series Nights by A.M. Salinger. Note from the author: although each book inNights can be read as a standalone, you will enjoy this series even more if you read the books in order!

Hush tells the story of Lana and Tom. Lana is president of Keele Industries and Tom is her assistant. What Lana doesn’t know is that Tom has been in love with her for such a long time and when she shows up drunk one night demanding for sex, he has to do everything to stop her because he doesn’t want to break his own heart…

Hush was such a quick and steamy read and I really liked it. Hush is the perfect book to read between heavy fantasy or sci-fi books because it’s really short and an easy story to enjoy. Or it’s just perfect when you don’t always have time to read big books and want something short and sexy.

Although Hush is book 8 in the Night Series, you can read all the books in the series as a standalone. However, the author does recommend reading them in order because some characters will show up in the series and then you’ll know their story.

I cannot wait to read all the other books in the Night Series because Hush was such an enjoyable and sexy read!

Top 5 autumn lipsticks

When I think of autumn, I think of all the colourful leaves, cosy jumpers and Halloween. I like to wear lipsticks to match these leaves and cosy jumpers, so that’s why I wanted to share my favourite autumn lipsticks with you guys.

1. Colourpop Ultra Satin Lipstick in Baracuda
The first lipstick is a ColourPop lipstick. I got three ColourPop lipsticks for my birthday last year, and I really like them. I have two different kinds of lipsticks: 2 Ultra Matte Lipsticks and 1 Ultra Satin Lipstick. Baracuda is the Ultra Satin Lipstick with a dark rose undertone. I really like the satin formula, and the dark rose colour is just so beautiful.

2. Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Unicorn Blood
This was also my first ever Jeffree Star Cosmetics lipstick that I got from a friend. I was always fascinated by Jeffree Star so it was amazing to have one of his lipsticks (now I also have another lipstick and a highlighter). Unicorn Blood is a dark rusty red with a matte finish. I think that this lipstick is a bit darker than it looks in the bottle, but it’s beautiful nonetheless.

3. Nabla Dreamy Matte Liquid Lipstick in Kernel
This lipstick was the first ever product I tried out by Nabla and I fell in love with the brand. The shade Kernel is a medium plummy-red brown colour, and the formula of this lipstick is matte. I really like how long this lipstick lasts on my lips as well as the colour.

4. Nyx Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Vintage
The Nyx Liquid Suede Cream lipsticks are very creamy and dry down a little. There’s an epic shade range, and one of the perfect shades for autumn is Vintage. Vintage is a plum shade with a mauve undertone. I really like wearing this lipstick because of the creamy finish. I wear a lot of matte lipsticks so wearing a creamy lipstick does help when my

5. Nyx Liquid Suede Metallic Matte in Biker Babe
The Nyx Liquid Suede Metallic Matte lipsticks are so cool, in my opinion. I like a good metallic lip and these are amazing! I own two lipsticks: Biker Babe and Modern Maven, both are really beautiful but I think that Biker Babe is a bit more autumn-like. Biker Babe is a burgundy lipstick with a matte metallic finish.

What’s your favourite autumn lipstick?

Fairy look | Tutorial

This is already my second Halloween look! I was inspired by a forest fairy, so that’s why I only used green for this look. I think that this look is really easy because the only things you need are green eyeshadows, a green highlighter and a few brushes. And creating this look is easy as well because you only need to be able to apply some eyeshadow on your eyebrows, eyelids, lips, cheekbones and chest.

I hope you guys like this look and will recreate it!

PS: I only edited my hair, eyes and background for this look. Everything else is just make-up!

1. The first thing you need to do is apply green eyeshadow on your chest, cheekbones and where you should apply bronzer on your forehead and jawline.

2. Apply green eyeshadow on top of your eyebrow and drag it down towards the tip of your nose.

3. Put a green eyeshadow in your crease and the inner and outer part of your eyelid, and put a lighter green in the middle of your eyelid.

4. Make your lips green by applying green eyeshadow as well as around the lips. After the eyeshadow, use a highlighter on top.

5. Use the same highlighter on your cheekbones, the inner corner of your eyes and your collarbones.

6. And the last step is mascara and lashes!

And that’s it!

Publisher: Entangled: Crush
Rating: ★★★★

Review

This book was provided by the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Entangled: Crush and Netgalley!

Love and Other Secrets tells the story of Alex and Bailey. Alex’s been in love with his best friend Bailey for such a long time that he’s finally going to ask her to prom. Bailey is determined to make an amazing promposal film for the NYU application and she’ll need Alex’ help to prompose to someone…

Love and Other Secrets is your typical "best friends who are in love with each other but deny it" book. I still like reading these books because I’ve been in love with my best friend for such a long time and now we’ve been together for 4.5 years. It always reminds me of my own relationship and that’s why I’m always attracted to books like Love and Other Secrets.

I really liked Alex and Bailey. They’re both so different, but they are still perfect for each other. Bailey is such a lovely character, and I can relate to her in so many ways. And Alex is not just your typical jock because he has a soft side that only Bailey knows of.

Love and Other Secrets is the perfect book for when you’re into a best friend romance and a happy ending!

Top 5 Halloween/October movies and TV shows

Last week I posted my Top 5 Halloween/October reads, so I had to write a blog post about my movie and TV show recommendations, right?!

1. Stranger Things
I was a bit late with Stranger Things because I didn’t watch it when it came out, but watched it maybe a few months later. My boyfriend was really hyped about this TV show and that’s why I decided to start watching it and I fell in love! Stranger Things is dark and a bit creepy and that’s why it’s just perfect for Halloween!

2. Carrie
I only watched the most recent version of Carrie, the one with Chloë Grace Moretz, and I really loved the movie. After the movie, I immediately read the book and fell in love for the second time. I think that the movie (and book) are just perfect for Halloween because they’re the perfect Thriller/Drama for Halloween!

3. American Horror Story
To be honest, I only watched the first season of AHS, but that season was so cool and strange, that it intrigued me. I also really like that the other seasons aren’t the same story because it makes the TV show more special! I do plan on continuing the series, so I hope I’ll enjoy the other seasons too.

4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Do I even have to write something? I think we can all agree that The Nightmare Before Christmas is the PERFECT movie for Halloween (and Christmas). I remember that I fell in love with this movie when I was a bit younger and from that moment, I fell in love with Tim Burton and his characters. I do have to admit that I still need to see a lot of Tim Burton’s movies, but I just know that I’ll love all his movies!

5. Grimm
And I want to finish this blog post with another amazing TV show: Grimm. I really like this TV show because it’s such an original take on the stories of the Brothers Grimm. I think that this is another amazing recommendation due to the fact that this TV show contains a lot of monsters and special creatures as well as an amazing cast.

Have you watched any of these movies/TV shows?

Hear What You Want | Review

Title: Hear What You Want

Review

This book was provided by the author through Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Kyra Lennon and Xpresso Book Tours!

Hear What You Want tells the story of Ambra and Noah. Ambra is a photographer and got the chance to take photographs of Noah’s band during a concert. They both went to a bar together with the rest of the band and some friends and after a few drinks they decided to go to the hotel and that night changed everything for Ambra and Noah…

Hear What You Want was such an amazing and interesting book. I couldn’t stop reading because I wanted to know how it was going to end and wow, the way it ended was so abrupt. Ambra finally figured out who changed her life and that’s it. Then the book said ‘To be continued’ and I was so angry. I just wanted to read more and know more about Ambra and Noah.

Ambra and Noah are amazing characters and I could relate to Ambra on so many levels. I’m kind of a punk girl too, and I’m also the same kind of person. Noah is also an amazing character and it was nice to know his side as well because there’s a double perspective.

I also want to say that there was a small Riverdale reference and yeah I agree with Ambra, I’m more of a Jughead kind of girl than an Archie kind of girl!

The story was about rape which may be a triggering for some people but I highly recommend this book. It shows how people don’t always believe a girl when she got raped and especially when she drank alcohol. Hear What You Want was such a good book and I couldn’t stop myself and bought it on Amazon after I finished it, it was just that good!

Halloween creatures 2.0 | Tag

I was tagged by Cora – Tea Party Princess to do the Halloween Creatures 2.0 book tag, which was created by Anthony – Keep Reading Forward.

Witch
A Magical Character or Book
One of my favourite fictional vampires must be Myles from the Sunshine series by Nikki Rae. The Sunshine series is one of my favourite indie vampire series and Myles was just someone very special and not just your typical vampire.

Werewolf
The Perfect Book to Read at Night
I don’t really read scary books because it’s just not something that I’m into because I get scared very easily. I don’t have this problem with scary movies because I love those, but with books you use your imagination and yeah I have a big imagination…
So for this question I’m just going to pick a good Halloween read: Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake.

Frankenstein
A Book that Truly Shocked You
I really love The Vampire Games series by Caroline Peckham and the most recent book, Wolf Games: Island of Shade had such shocking and evil ending that I didn’t see coming.

The Devil
A Dark, Evil Character
I’m going to pick Tamlin from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas. It’s not that he is the darkest and most evil character ever but I really think that he was such an evil person for not letting Feyre be herself and to be free.

Grim Reaper
A Character that Should Never Have Died
It’s not really a Halloween book, but I really cried when Augustus died in The Fault in Our Stars. TFIOS was such a beautiful and sad book and it was hard to read the scenes of him dying.

Zombie
A Book that Made You ‘Hungry’ for More
This is not really a Halloween read or a supernatural read, but I really loved Until You Set Me Free by D.M. Davis and I just had to read the two other books in the series. It was just such an amazing New Adult series!

Gargoyle
A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost
Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. He’s such a cutie and I want a sexy hot alien for myself!

Vampire
A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You
I recently read Renegade by Mallory McCartney, this was a DNF for me even though I tried really hard to like it.

Ghost
A Book that Still Haunts You
Perhaps Carrie by Stephen King. It was my first ever book written by Stephen King and I was really fascinated by the story.

Demon
A Book that Really Scared You
I don’t really read scary books so I cannot really recommend a book, sorry!

Skeleton
A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With
Mercy from V Games by Caroline Peckman. She’s such a mean person and I know that deep down she’s such a good person and has valid feelings.

Mummy
A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time
Probably Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling or Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. Harry Potter brings up so many good memories and Twilight was the first real Young Adult book I ever read.

Creepy Doll
A Cover too Scary to Look At
Like I mentioned before, I don’t really read scary books so I don’t have a scary cover to share with you guys, sorry!

The Monster Mash
It’s Fun to Be with Friends on Halloween!
Tag Your Friends!
Dorine – My Paper World
Jaiden – Moonlit Reads
Jorie – Jorie Loves A Story
Marcia - Trendy Simple Life
Menna Rachel
Michelle – First Book Love

Witch look | Tutorial

It’s finally time for my Halloween tutorials! I was so excited for Halloween this year, so I started creating my looks in early September because I was just that ready for Halloween. My first look for Halloween is a look inspired by witches. I used a lot of black and green highlighter because I was thinking about the wicked witch.

I hope you guys like this look and let me know what you think!

I also edited my picture to make it look a little creepier, so I hope I did a good job haha!

1. The first step is to paint a part of your face black and set it with black eyeshadow, doesn’t matter which one.

2. Then you apply green highlighter all over the black paint to give it a special look.

3. I wanted to do something special with my eyes and eyebrows so you could see them with all the black and that’s why I decided to go over them with white eyeliner.

4. For my lips, I used a black liquid lip and smudged it with some black eyeshadow. On top of the lipstick, I used the green highlighter.

5. And the last step is painting your chest with black paint and then on top green highlighter.

And that's it!
