The Snake Den | Review

Title: The Snake Den                                                             Series: The Shadow and Ink Series #2
Author: Nikki Rae

Pages: 125 pages
Version: Kindle (beta)

Publisher: Selfpublished
Rating: ★★★★★

First of all I want to thank Nikki Rae for the beta copy, you're the best!
The Snake Den is the second book in The Shadow and Ink Series and continues the story of Corbin and Six. Corbin's hearing a voice, Six, and in The Snake Den we get to know more about Six. Who he is, what he is and why he wants Corbin.
A lot of crazy things happen and school starts again. There's a new guy Rust, but is he the sweet guy we think he is? And is Six the guy we think he is?
The story is great, the characters are great, Nikki Rae is great and the ending is mean! The story is so good! I couldn't stop reading and it's written so beautifully. Corbin really developed into a more confident girl (not that she's more confident but she trusts and believes Six more) if you compare it to The Crow Box and the beginning of The Snake Den. She's still one of my favourite characters ever. I love that she's into art and has a grunge style. Another thing I want to say is that I love how original this story is!
I cannot wait for a sequel, so Nikki, you better start writing! ;)

Too Late | Review

Title: Too Late
Author: Colleen Hoover
Version: Ebook
Publisher: Wattpad
Rating: ★★★★★

Dear Colleen Hoover

Can you please write more about Sloan and Carter/Luke?
And is there a possibility to make paperbacks of Too Late? Because I really really want to have Too Late in physical copy!

Kind regards

Too Late tells the story of Sloan. Sloan is a student and is forced to live with Asa so she can get money for her little brother. She must have sex with Asa and do everything he wants. There's no way out because she'll do everything for her brother. Everything until Carter shows up. He changes everything. But can Carter liberate Sloan from Asa?

I just can't get enough of Colleen Hoover's writing. Every story, every character she creates, I just can't not love it. Too Late is something totaly different but Colleen Hoover can pull it off! I started reading yesterday and I just couldn't stop reading. I kept reading and only stoped when I was too tired to continue. The next day I read on my way to school, at school, on my way home. I just couldn't not read it. It was way too good and I need more. I need more of Sloan and Carter/Luke. They have a special bond and they have this silly word game that I love. I just can't get enough of them!
I want to thank Colleen Hoover for making yet another amazing story, you're truly an incredible writer!

Update 05/09/2016: Colleen Hoover added some new parts on Wattpad and I still need more!!!

Reading habits | Tag

I thought that this tag was something fun to do so here we go:

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
Most of the time I read in my room, in my bed, or I read in the living room. Those are the 'softest' places to read. I hate reading on a chair, so those are my only two options.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
Of course a bookmark! I love to collect and make bookmarks (I'm even making some right now). But I must admit that if I don't have a bookmark near me, I use a piece of paper or something random.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
If I have to stop reading, I prefer to stop after a chapter. I can't stand to finish in the middle of a chapter. It must be my autism, but I just can't stand it. So I absolutely hate it when a book doesn't have chapters... The only thing I can do then is to stop after a blank space (I don't know what it is in English, but in Dutch it's called a 'witregel' and it's some space between two lines).

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
If I'm thirsty or hungry, I'll drink/eat while reading. If I'm not, I don't drink/eat while reading. I don't know why, but when I watch a movie, I like to eat something, but when I'm reading, I don't like it. All the crumbles will be stuck between the pages and for example when I'm eating chocolat ice cream, it'll probably spill it on the pages (it happened in Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer).

5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
Music: yes
TV: hell no!
I can read while listening to music because I listen to pretty heavy music so I won't be distracted. But I can't read while the TV is on because I'll watch more TV than read in my book. Even if it's the something borig, I will be distracted.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
I like to keep 1 book at a time, but when I have to read a book for school, I'll probably read two books at a time. The reason I like to keep 1 book at a time is that I don't like to read several books at a time because then I'll mix the stories of the books and it'll take longer to finish both books.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?
Everywhere! I read at home, my boyfriend's place, my grandparen's place, school, the bus, the train,... Even when I'm walking to school. (If you can't tell I'm addicted to books, something's wrong with you!)

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Do people read out loud when they're alone? I think that's kinda creepy. So if you didn't figure it out, I read in my head.

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
I often have the tendancy to skip some lines, but I try not to. And yes I skip pages, but only if I hate the book, but still have to know what the book is about.
10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
When the cover is way too pretty, I try not to break the spine and read my book very carefully. But when the cover is just okay and nothing special, I don't mind breaking the spine. When I was younger I didn't take care of my books, so most of the spines of my older books aren't looking brand new.
Something I also hate is when your cover is curling. For example it happened with The Selection by Kiera Cass even though I read it very carefully.

11. Do you write in your books?
I never ever write in my books. My books are holy. I only put some little sticky notes in them if I like a quote or when the information is important, but I never ever write in my books. But I do have to admit that I've done it once, it was a book that I bought for school and it was bad and ugly so I didn't mind writing in it.

The end :)

Shadowhunters SE1 | Review

Title: Shadowhunters
Created by: Ed Decter
Based on: The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
Seasons (watched): 1 season
Rating: ★★★★

Shadowhunters is a TV show based on The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. It tells the story of Clary Fray who never knew she was a Shadowhunter until she met Jace and his friends Isabelle and Alec. Her world has been turned upside down since then.

First I want to say that I love the book series (I still need to read the last book) and that I wished the TV show would be the same. When they told us that they would change things, I was a little irritated because I loved the books so much. But later I got over it. I was too excited to watch the show and didn't wanted to waste my time worrying about things that wouldn't be the same.

Episode after episode the TV show became better, and I couldn't wait until it was Wednesday so I could watch the new episode (I'm from Belgium so I can't watch it on Tuesday). Even though a lot is different, I still loved season 1. I just forgot about the books when I was watching the show. And I know a lot of people think it's horrible that they changed a lot and they whine about it, but they said before the first episode aired that things would be different. I think that if you can't live with it, you just don't watch the show and irritate other people with your opinion.

Overall I think season 1 was great. This season contained a lot of action and romance. You got to know more about their culture and stuff (for example the wedding runes) and I think that the cast is really great (even though not everyone matches the description from the books). I really like Clary because I wouldn't pick another actrice for her. I loved that they dyed her hair more orange than in the movie. I think Izzy is amazing too, she's so kickass and I love that she's so sexy. Jace, Alec and Magnus are great too! I love how they look and the way they act. I just can't wait for season 2!!!
