Review
Breaking the Habit is the fourth book in The Breaking Series and tells the story of Riley and Levi.

Breaking the Habit is the third book I’ve read by Ember Leigh and it’s my favourite one so far. It was really hard to put this book down. I read this book during my exam period so every time I took a little study break, I always read a few chapters in this book.

I really loved the story and the characters. I think that the characters were a bit different, but in a good way. (Keep in mind that I’ve only read My Little Secret and Breaking the Game). I really loved Riley because she has a unique style and she’s into photography. Levi is really hot and sexy and I love that he has a bad side but also takes care of his disabled brother. They are a match made in heaven and I couldn’t get enough of them.

I really really loved this book and it was so fast paced and well written. Breaking the Habit is just such an amazing book about MMA fighters and it’s kind of one of my favourite genres of Romance I think. It is always so hot and sexy and I kinda love the fighting scenes. Ember Leigh is an amazing author and I cannot wait to read the other books in The Breaking Series!

As You Breathe Again | Review

Title: As You Breathe Again
Series: The Walker Boys #2
Author: Molli Moran
Pages: 304 pages
Version: Ebook (ARC)
Rating: ★★★★

Synopsis

She’s never had the courage to hold on to anyone. He never learned how to let go of what he wants.

Delaney Shaw isn’t looking for anything complicated. After her teaching career is put on hold, she decides to spend the summer in Georgia with her best friend. Lanie lives for the here and now, and she isn’t thinking past the end of the summer. She’s never had any problem being unattached, because she learned a long time ago that life is safer that way.

Until Reece Walker decides to change her mind.

Almost a year after his ex-wife’s death, Reece is still reeling from her passing. He’s devoted himself to raising their son and working his family’s farm to keep himself grounded. Reece feels like he’s lost sight of the man he used to be, and he’s not sure how to find his way back.

Everything changes when the woman he’s unsuccessfully tried to forget walks back into his life.

Even though she’s fighting their sizzling chemistry, Lanie is losing the war. But love isn’t always like it is in the movies, and they have real issues. Lanie is terrified Reece’s small town won’t accept their interracial relationship, and she doesn’t know how to let him in.

Lanie has had years to build her defenses, but Reece isn’t the sort to give up without a fight. If he can counter Lanie’s fears with the future only he can offer her, maybe they can both learn to breathe again.

Review

This book was provided by the author through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Molli Moran and Netgalley!

As You Breathe Again is the second book in The Walker Boys series and tells the story of Lanie and Reece. Although this is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.

As You Breahte Again is the first book I’ve read by Molli Moran and I really liked it. I really liked the concept of this story as well as the characters.

Lanie is such a strong woman and she defends herself and others, and that’s something I admire. She has a darker skin colour and because of that she gets a lot of remarks from different people, but she keeps on her brave face and tells them it’s not okay. I love that this book talks about racism because it’s an everyday struggle for people who have a darker skin colour or love someone from the same sex, etc.

Reece is your typical well-raised country guy, and he was really cute. I loved that he fought for Lanie and even waited for her to be ready. Lanie and Reece are so cute together and I couldn’t get enough of them!

As You Breahte Again is a beautiful book and I cannot wait to read the first book in the series, As You Turn Away!

4.5/5*

Synopsis

The second book in Brittni Chenelle’s Kingdom Cold Series. With even more twists, intrigue, and swoon-worthy romance, this sparkling sequel to Kingdom Cold will captivate readers who loved C.J. Redwine’s Defiance, or Kiera Cass’s Selection.

Besmium has been reduced to rubble, and sinister Camelot reigns supreme. Abandoned by Minseo, brother of the fallen king, widowed Charlotte’s path is perilous. New to life beyond her walls, she’s forced to face the winter and motherhood alone, while being hunted by a soldier whose life’s goal depends on her capture.

When whispers reach Minseo that Queen Charlotte survived, he decides to leave his drunken shame behind and seek his lost love. He knows finding her won’t be terribly difficult but protecting both her and daughter Morgana is a different errand – one requiring more than time’s power to heal.

Beyond the landscape of lies and treachery, Charlotte will need to navigate her feelings wisely. Can Minseo be trusted with the ultimate secret? Wherever young Morgana goes, a trail of ash is left behind, in consequence of something sought by sorcerers and mortal fiends … united, closing in.

Two fates present in seeking redemption: win her love or lose his soul. One must emerge.

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Brittni Chenelle!

Kingdom Soul is the second book in the Kingdom Cold series and continues the story of Charlotte and Minseo. We also get to know some new characters such as Gabriel, Lancelot and Merlin.

Kingdom Soul was such a fast paced read, I finished it in one day just like the first book. I really liked the story and the characters. There was this epic plot twist at the end of the book and now I cannot wait to read the next book!

I really liked the characters in this book. Charlotte’s changed so much, she’s not a teenager any more but a widow and a mum. I also really liked Morgana, Charlotte’s child, and Merlin. I really liked that Merlin is a female character instead of a male one. I cannot wait to learn more about Morgana and Merlin!

Kingdom Soul was an amazing sequel and I look forward to reading the third book in the series!

A Guide to Nonbinary and Genderqueer Identities

Review

This book was provided by the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Jessica Kingsley Publishers and Netgalley!

First, I’d like to talk about the good things of They/Them/Their. I learnt a few things reading this book and some chapters were interesting such as the introduction, because the author wrote a little terminology part, and I liked the chapter about the community.

Now, let’s talk about the negative things. I expected this book to be shorter, because there were so many unnecessary parts or just boring parts. I wanted to learn more about nonbinary and genderqueer identities, but there were so many times that I just wanted to give up and not finish this book.

To be honest, there were many chapters that I read diagonally or chapters were I skipped certain parts because they weren’t interesting at all. It feels more like a published paper than a book that wants to educate people on nonbinary and genderqueer identities.

I’m sorry to say this, but I don’t recommend They/Them/Their at all.

Where I Ache is broken up into six chapters ranging from themes such as depression, jealousy, death, and strength. Where I Ache is a poetry collection about depression, jealousy, death, and strength. This collection has six chapters: My Foggy Head, My Weak Spine, My Bruised Heart, My Grieving Knees, My Greedy Green Eyes and My Soothing Arms.

One would think I’m addicted to my own pain
with the way I break my own heart.

Where I Ache is the first poetry collection I’ve read by Megan O’Keeffe. I liked the little illustrations in this collection and some of the poems were really relatable!

As the last brother to get married, I need a little help, and that’s where my sister-in-law’s American best friend, Leah, comes into the picture. She could use a little Irish luck after the deceitful things her ex did to her that brought her to Ireland. With her take-no-shite-attitude, she’s just the type of girl to help me find a wife.

That is, if I can remember she’s the matchmaker and not the match.

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Entangled Publishing!

Dirty Irish is the third book in the Murphy Brothers series and tells the story of Sean and Leah. Although this book is the third one in the series, it can be read as a standalone!

Dirty Irish is the first book I read by Magan Vernon, and I really liked it. When I got the opportunity to read this book, I immediately said yes when I saw the title. I love reading books set in Ireland because I’m really fascinated by Ireland’s culture and so far I’ve loved every book I’ve read set in Ireland!

I really liked the characters, Sean is such a handsome, sexy and honest man and I liked Leah’s sass. I also really liked the other brothers and their wives. I loved Sean’s family and their bond. It took Sean and Leah a while to see their true feelings, but it was cute to see how they grew as a couple!

Dirty Irish was fast paced and such an enjoyable read! I cannot wait to read Magan Vernon’s other books as well as book 1 and 2 in the Murphy Brothers series.

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Sadie Moss!

Thief is the third book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series and continues the story of Elliot and her four men.

I always start my reviews by saying that Sadie Moss’ new book was yet another amazing book and that’s just the truth. I cannot get enough of her characters, of the world she’s built. Sadie Moss is just such an amazing author, and she’s definitely one of my favourite authors. She can create this entire world with amazing characters and I just have to finish the book in one day or two days just because it’s that good.

Thief was such a good book because it wasn’t just the romance and the action that made it an amazing book, it was the characters and the relationship between them. All four men are so different from each other but the one that stood out the most in this book was Dmitri. Elliot and Dmitri have a weird kind of relationship and it’s hard for Dmitri to show his emotions. I think that Dmitri was my favourite of all four in this book. And keep in mind that I don't usually pick favourites because I love all four of ’m.

So yeah I picked a favourite for once but that doesn’t mean I don’t love Cam, Asher and Roman! I cannot wait to see what sort of trouble Elliot gets in in the next book in the series, Threat! I’m sure that it will be another amazing, fast paced and well-written book!

In a Dream You Saw a Way to Survive is a poetry collection about love, cheating, abortion, loss, abuse and consists of two parts.

You spend years building a home
just to watch it destroyed in seconds.

This is the first poetry collection I read by Clementine von Radics and I liked it. There were some beautiful poems I could relate to and I liked that Clementine was really raw and honest.

My healing is ugly.
My edges cracked and uninspiring.

But still, they are my edges.
Still, I am healing.

There were some poems that were okay but I could still feel the emotion behind her words. I cannot wait to read some of her other poetry collections!

I’m saying I loved a man for years
thinking he was the bandage
only to realize he was the wound.
